When The Museum of Modern Art reopened in Manhattan in 2004 following a major renovation and expansion project, we launched a new series of free audio programmes and a PDA pilot project to examine the use of handhelds in the museum. This case study begins with those initiatives and explore the projects that followed to make MoMA Audio more broadly available both online and in the museum. Throughout the development of these programmes, our efforts have centred on streamlining the content distribution across multiple devices and channels, such as iTunesU, MoMA.guide, and MoMA Wifi.
