The Louvre multimedia guide was launched in October 2007, but it is still something of a work in progress. Célia Meunier presents the way the Louvre organised the project, in-housing some tasks (mostly those linked to the visitor experience and design), and outsourcing others (content production, technical development, communication and rental service). She focusses on a crucial function of the tour: the navigation system that helps visitors to find their way through this huge museum, and outlines the ongoing updates that will give the multimedia tour its final shape.
